Program Description

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) for certificate program for public and nonprofit managers, consists of a series of four courses designed to provide public managers an opportunity to increase individual aptitude and knowledge in foundational concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Each course involves online pre-work that needs to be completed prior to the live session (the schedule below indicates live session date and time). The live session will be held via Zoom and will last approximately 2.5 hours. In the interactive sessions, you will be challenged to explore and unpack your own biases and identify personal development areas of improvement. Through a range of individual and group experiences, you will begin to recognize blind spots connected to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Upon completing the live session, you will complete a reflection assignment.

Live Session Requirements

The session will begin promptly at the scheduled time. In order to fully participate in the live session, you will need a desktop or laptop device with a camera and microphone. During the sessions, we will be using the Canvas course site and Zoom chat and breakout room functions which are difficult on a phone for the level of engagement required. As an interactive online education program, you will be asked to have your camera on during the session and be in a location with minimal interruptions.

A two-day program for executive teams of ten or more is also available.

Fall 2024 Fully Online Sessions

Register for one of the available cohorts below to guarantee your spot in all four courses. Optionally, register for courses individually. Participants MUST attend the live Zoom session to pass each course.

The DEI courses must be taken in numerical order, Course 1 through Course 4. However, you may register for all four courses prior to completing a prerequisite in order to guarantee your spot in the course section.

To register via email, use the PDF registration form and send to the address listed on the form. You may register for multiple courses by listing all course codes.

To register online, click on the red "Register" button on the rightmost column of the course listing. If you intend to register for more than one course, you must register for each course individually, due to the prerequisite requirements within our registration system. You do not need to complete a course before registering for the next. However, if a prerequisite course is not successfully completed or the live session is not attended, your registration will be canceled or transferred to a later offering.

Complete all four courses in this program to earn a certificate and digital badge credential. CEUs issued by the State of New Jersey also available.

Registration closes one week prior to online access start date.
